It is in my long-standing TODO list to improve it, I think it is the oldest entry in TODO. Few scripts check if the scripts are executable before attempting to source them, but it is not the case with /etc/profile and /etc/bashrc. So I think they do not need 755 permissions anymore. Thanks for noticing that.
